1.How to go
There is almost no public transportation in
Ubud. I usually go to the guest house
by taxi from the airport. HONDA
super cab 50cc is like local's foot.
If you don't want to spend your money
very much , you can use public bus.
There is Kura-kura bus stop at
Museum Puri Lukisan.It takes
15minutes walk to Pondok Bulan Mas.
2. Surrounding atmosphere
It is originally residential area.
There are mixture of Balinese style
buildings and nature (jungle).
Nature in Bali is more vibrant than in
northern counries. Plants grow fast
and you sometimes have heavy rain
from Nov. to Mar.
3. Shopping and restaurants
There are some small restaurants (stalls)
and a 24hr convenience store.
After you leave the guest house,
there is a local restaurant 500m
away near public senior high school.
Daily life at the guest house
1. In the morninig
Early in the morning, you can hear
the music of birds. People go shopping
to the market near the centrel. You can see
morning ceremonies everywhere in Ubud.
2. During daytime
You can join a half-day or a full-day tour.
Your house owner can organize a tour
with his car.
Bali is a hot and humid place, you may
feel like taking a shower after you
have walked two to three hours.
It's up to you.
You will often see many Bali Hindu
ceremonies on the street all through
the year. It's local custom and
it's part of their daily life.
3. In the evening
You can enjoy world-class Balinese
entertaiment every night there. It's easy
to go and come back after the show.
One of this family member is a "Kechak"
dancer for years.
